excuse me, how old are you?

Today is Monday, start of a new work week. I was on my way to office when I met the mum of my girl’s ex-school mate. Naturally we said “Hi”. At the same time, I can feel her looking me up and down and it makes me feel self-conscious. Ok, I wasn’t in my usual aunty garb of well-worn tee and 3/4 pants which I wear when I am doing my errands around the neighbourhood. Don’t get the wrong idea, I wasn’t wearing anything revealing or outrageous, just a simple plaid jumpsuits in blue.... a very short one. Finished off with a pair of loafers, a canvas bag and hint of pink lipstick. I admit, the getup is not typical of someone my age will be wearing. And yes, I am on my way to office. Our bosses are not exactly concern with what we wear to work as long as we are not in our pjs or birthday suites.

When my kids were young and still needing me to chase after them, I wasn’t too bothered with what I wear. Now that they are less dependent, I am finally able to wear what I like. And what do I like to wear.... sundresses, short flirty skirts, hot pants and 2 inch heels! Oh my, how I miss the heels! I am also seeking dresses of various length in bright, cheery colours. I am more adventurous now in trying new styles. I once read on someone’s blog: “Wear confidence and everything else will look good” So there.... I am wearing my confidence, not my age. It’s great to feel young.

it was daddy’s birthday

We brought the kids to Changi Point for dinner. We had planned for a short stroll from Changi Point Boardwalk to Changi Village for daddy’s birthday dinner. The walk turns out to be longer than expected. Starting from Changi Beach Club, it was a good 30 mins walk (may be longer, can’t really remember). Luckily the kids were in high spirits. We took pictures and enjoy the sea breeze as we stroll along. At the end of the stroll, we brought Han to this semi enclosed area where the uncle rent mini motorized cars/bikes for a 20 mins ride at $2. This was the first time Han went up a bike. She was clueless on how to handle it, kept knocking into pillars and other mini cars. Daddy had to follow her the whole time she was up on the bike. It was very funny watching the two of them. We ended the evening with a sumptuous dinner at one of the kopitiam.

Here’s cheers to good health to daddy on his 42nd birthday. Be young and keep cool, ok? Where are we going for mine har?? *wink*  *wink*

the determined balloon seeker

Wow, it's been almost 2 mths since I last posted. Very busy lately, freelancing at an agency the whole of March, SAHM for the past 2 weeks - busy with kids & trying to find time to do up my itsy online site (yupz, but still under construction, at the rate that I'm going I don't think it'll be up any time soon ;P). Who says SAHM is very FREE!!!!! Aunty has been a SAHM since Feb & she's yet to find time to yak in the chatroom or update her bloggy (psstt....er...I think she also said her larling dun like her to be on her lappy too much, so she's been a very gd garl). Well, managed to meet up with her ytd for "Meet The Robinsons" movie event with 2 kids & 2 bbs in tow hahahaha..... 1st time I'm out with both Farn & Han, I almost died. Thank goodness dh came to pick up Han before the movie started. The pre-movie activities was not that great, a bit disorganised but the movie was gRREAttttt!! I'm gonna get the VCD when it's out :)

Hmmmm..... what else happened....let's see... oh yes, I brought Farn to a SSO children concert sometime back. This is the 2nd SSO concert he has attended since Baby Prom. Love it, he even can recognised some of the classical pieces all thanks to Little Einstine (from Playhouse Disney Channel --- the POWER of the goggle box!) Well, something farny happened on that day. The volunteers was giving out balloons after the concert. As usual the kids & adults crowd around the volunteers trying to grab 1 of the FREE balloons (I mean they're FREEEE mah, so must grab. Don't understand, how much is a balloon gonna cost har?) Farn insisted that he wanted 1, so I told him to get it himself (yup, yup, I know I'm very evil hehehehe) So the poor boy, being very small size, tried very hard to squeeze through the kids & the butts of the adults. He tried so hard, when he finally squeezed to the front, all the balloons had been given out :( He came back to me looking sooooo disappointed. Just then another volunteer came out with a fresh bunch of balloons. Can see his eyes light up loh, he was hestitating, den I was like 'quick, quick, quick GO, wait later no more again' So he finally had a blue balloon with the words SSO printed on it.

Ahem... that's not the end of the story. We walked past the ACM & found out that they have children activities. So we did stone painting, he painted a stone ladybird (it's now sitting proudly on a shelf in our hall) We also found out that they have balloon sculpting at 2.30pm. With more than 2hrs to kill, I decided to hv lunch. Brought him to the big M at Boat Q, past the bumboat ride counter. Farn wanted to go for a ride, as usual I told him nxt time. At the big M while chomping on our burgers & fries, a terrible thing happened. His prized balloon started to SHRINKKKKK!!!!!! EKKKK!!!! Farn looks like he gonna burst into tears (who wouldn't, after all the squeezing to get this balloon). So to pacify him I reminded him of the balloon sculpting later at ACM. After lunch, we went back to ACM, but we're still 30mins early. By now the balloon had shrank to slightly bigger den an apple. He insisted that I cannot throw it away, must put it in my bag. Aiyoh, cannot tahan him. To pass the 3omins, we went for a bumboat ride. Farn was so excited & was asking me all the questions abt Boat Q & the bridges we passed. Well, history was not my strongest subject so 'I don't know' was my standard answer ;P After the ride, went back to ACM. The balloon sculpting had just started & already there's a long que. Farn happily joined the que. When he finally got his balloon sculpted in the shape of a cat, he was delighted. I was telling myself 'Good, now we can go home.' BUT we had barely cross the street, Farn was fiddling with the balloon, when the cat balloon BURST!!!! Win lor
! *&$!*#@^# can I complain to ACM that the guy used sub-quality balloons?! (Actually I think it's the heat ---- hot air expand mah rite??) Now we had to go back to get another balloon, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Farn can get another one. So back to the que haizzz..... The problem was they had to stop the sculpting session as the story-telling was up next. And Farn was just the nxt after the kid in front! Think he super bad luck that day. The balloon sculpting guy took his barang to the side to finished up the last balloon for the kid. Farn still refused to give up, stood right behind the kid even though I told him that the session had ended. Well, the guy remembered Farn, he was like 'U got ur balloon just now rite?' I was quite paisei, told him that the balloon bursted, Farn held up the bursted balloon to prove our claim (hey, ok, ok, I know balloons don't cost much but this one cannot get outside hor) The guy went 'Awwww.... so what do u like this time?' Was I surprised!!! Such a nice guy hehehehe.... This time round Farn asked for a flower, manzz.... this one is BIG loh many times BIGGER than the stupid cat, check out the pic & the 100 magawatts smile :)

chinese new year

first day
Very excited as it is Han's 1st Chinese New Year. Can't wait to show her off to my relatives. But but but Farn complained of stomachache after finishing his morning milk & threw out. Poor boy, keep asking me how how. So we didn't went to mum's place as what we usually do on CNY. By lunch time he was feeling better so we decided to go with my ILs to hb's godma's plc. Who knows while I was getting Han ready, Farn complained of tummy ache again :( Haiz, in the end I've to stay home with him while dh & Han went with my ILs. Farn was very disappointed, asked me "How? I dun wan to miss all the fun leh" I also dun wan to stay at home wat....boringgggg.........

second day
Was planning to go mum's place as we didn't go yesterday, but she was out visiting & couldn't confirm when she'ld be home, xianz. Went to dh's boss CNY lunch, no mood so didn't eat much. After the lunch we went to dh's godma's place as it's nearby & Farn missed going there yesterday. Another boringggg day.

third day
Today's the day that Ido's having a gathering at KM's place, so excited. Finally I can have some fun, just luv to yak with the mummies. BUT Farn has to spoil my fun AGAIN!!! He had lunch at 1pm & took 1 bl**dy whole hr to finish. Can't believe it! The gathering starts at 1pm, I still have to get him ready, doll up myself, get Han's stuff to pass to MIL, even if I'm lucky enough to get a cab right away, it'ld be 4pm by the time I reach Yew Tee (yupz, that's where KM stays). In the end, I skipped KM's gathering, went to mum's place for dinner (kekekeke and I met Simon's gf there finally). Yet another boringgggg day.... kaoz....

Well, that's my 'most interesting' CNY. A very happy & prosperous Chinese New Year to you, hope yours is more fun den mine :)

handphone battery hunt

Met up with sis yday & left my hph on the food court table, when i went back, it's GONE! sHIT! Now have to call Singtel to suspend my SIM card & get a new hph....... waste $$$. Managed to get a replacement SIM card at Hello! shop, the lady informed me that I've to pay extra $100 for a new hph as my line is only due for 21mth upgrade on 5th Sept..... wat MORE $$$! Then I remembered I've a spare hph but with faulty battery. What the hack, a new battery is cheaper than a new hph, anyway it's only to last me till 5th Sept (a non-original battery only cost $10).

Wasn't really bothered till I reached home then I realised without a hph & no land line at home, I'm literally cut off from this world! Sharks!!!! What if my bb Kitty decides to pop tomorrow or I falls or faint or...... I'll not be able to dial for help! Quickly I went in search for my spare hph, trying to remember where I've buried it. Phew! finally found it stucked in between my clothes in my drawer. So today, after my gynae I'm gonna get a new battery.

Visit to Dr Lee, my gynae, is as usual short. Was told that bb Kitty is 2.87kg from the scan, but Dr Lee says she maybe bigger than that! Wow, no wonder my peivic area is aching like nobody's business. Took a cab to Elias Mall to get the battery. On reaching, I realised the hph shop has folded..... SHiiiiit, I still plan to hitch a ride home in CF's school bus after the purchase, but now I've to look for another shop.... So I went to Pasir Ris MRT's Singtel shop but was told that my phone model is too old, they no longer stock the battery...WHAT!!!! Ok fine, I needed the battery no matter what, so I tried my luck at the Starhub shop in White Sands. The sales was on the phone when I walked in. He turned to look at me, I showed him my hph & said "Battery?", he just shook his head & was back yakking on the phone again.....what kinda service is this.......arghhhhhhh...... no choice I really need the battery TODAY... so the next best bet is the Hello! shop at Tampines Mall.

Off I go in the MRT to Tampines Mall, only to be told "Sorry Miss, this model is too old, battery no more stock..." but the sales was really helpful, he suggested that I can try the Nokia Service Ctr at Century Sq. By now I'm tired & my legs are groaning after all the walking & the extra 2.87kg weight, huhhhh, still expect me to walk to the next building!!! Oh, how I miss my bed, my pillow, my cool aircon bedrm & my 'babes room' chatting.......

BUT STILL.... I dragged my feet there, all the while keeping my fingers crossed. Haiz, guess today is not my lucky day, no battery either at the Nokia Service Ctr. When I was at the Ctr, I took a peek at the pricing..... omg... original Nokia batteries cost a bloody $58! That's it, I can't go on any more, my legs were going to break, I needed a seat! Spotting a Haagen Daz eating area, I plonked myself down on 1 of their soft & comfy sofa & ordered an apple pie with 2 scoops of their yummy ice-cream ...hmmmm....heavenly...the best thing so far after a day of hunting. While savouring my treat, I did a quick calculation ... if I were to pay $58 for a battery, I must as well top up another $40 for a new hph now then to wait till 5th Sept. So, after 3hrs of unfruitful battery hunting, I finally decided to get a new hph... what a waste of time & money (the ice-cream cost me a whooping $18)!

Hack, went back to Hello! shop at Tampines Mall, took a que no. to purchase a hph. Omg, I realised all their service counters don't have seats, oh, my poor, poor legs. Finally, it's my turn. This sales guy at the counter was so cute looking hehehe.... On seeing me, he promptly said "Hi Ms, let me get u a chair." Hey, that was soooo thoughtful. He offered me a high stool, but er.... a bit too high for a heavily preggie me. Then the cute guy said "Wait, let me lower it for u." with that he got on the stool & lowered it to a comfortable height for me, awwwww soooooo sweet, that's what I call good service (remembering the Starhub sales...pui!). None of the hph on display appeals to me, so I just picked an affordable Nokia, paid & took a cab home.
Xainz, now I'm stuck with a hph I don't like for the nxt 2yrs :( Well, people always say to look on the bright side, so the bright side of losing my phone.... I don't have to worry about missing any calls the whole of today hahahaha........

Lastly, to the snigger who took my phone, MAY MY PHONE BLOWS UP UR FACE!!! $#@*!^#

36weeks & counting .....

Just went to the gynae, gosh, I'm now 62kg & bb kitty is 2.5kg. Wow, she really put on fast, 2 weeks ago she was only 1.8kg! Popped by Stemcord to sign the cord blood banking agrreement. Got a real gd price: originally was $750 (a special rate for patients of Gleneagles gynae) which was reduce to $450 as Stemcord is having a promotion. That amount was further reduced by $50 with credit card promotion. kekeke.... in the end I only paid $400 + $20 (GST)!
Didn't do much for the rest of the week. Managed to clear out a drawer for bb's clothing. Daddy has finally get down to rearranging the study to accomodate the bb cot, but has yet to set up the cot. Hopefully, he'll do it this weekend. Bought a pair of pretty, cute curtains with animal prints from Ikea yesterday for the bb room.

Hmmmm.... what else need to be done.... there's the pink stack of rompers to be washed, laundry the bumper, buy a matress & fitted sheet for the confinement lady, write down a list of impt ctc nos. for daddy & MIL, stock up the kitchen.... OMG.... so much things to do, but so little time....

yawnzzz... feeling sleepy again.
